Motion Design

For this project, the main focus was on creating and animating my own illustrations in After Effects, based on the assignments and storyboards I had developed throughout the process. Each assignment challenged me to experiment with different animation techniques, from basic frame-by-frame animation to working with keyframes and layer management.

The first task was to sketch out a simple 3-second animation, focusing on the idea and concept. I then expanded this into a 10-second animation, which required additional action sequences and a more detailed storyboard.

After organizing the elements in After Effects, I faced some challenges with file importation, which led to me working out creative solutions such as using PSD files for easier management. I also experimented with background and foreground transitions, like adjusting the light and dark versions of the donut, and applied frame-by-frame animation for smoother changes.

Throughout the project, I made sure to add appropriate sound effects and experimented with timing and pacing to create a balanced and engaging animation. While the task was demanding, I’m pleased with how the animation turned out, and it gave me valuable hands-on experience in animation techniques and software.
